Choosing a location

W hile choosing our location was a difficult task we made due. the location we chose was originally a café but we realized that due to all that is happening we wouldn't be allowed to film in a café so my group member (Serena) came up with the great idea to use her uncles backyard to film the scene in the café ( beautiful btw). so while we knew where the café scene was going to be shot we still had to figure out where the detectives shot will be filmed and that didn't take long it still took consideration we needed somewhere that was dark and office like so I knew was going to film it at my house and use my brothers desk area. Now that I think about it choosing a location wasn't as hard as I thought it was a simple task that just needed a little bit of thought.

Mission Statement and more

What Is Our Mission Statement?     With this project, I am striving to create a film opening that uses all of the conventions of a thriller genre film opening because, while I can create a good film opening, it is something else for it to include the appropriate and correct conventions to go along with the genre.     Some films that are similar to our film is  The Lie, Black Box, and The Invisible Man. I say that these movies are similar because they have very dark themes while adding psychological, horror, mental, and mysterious elements to the film. theses movies were all produced by the production company Blumhouse.      The Lie Budget - < 10 million     Black Box Budget - < 10 million     The Invisible Man  Budget - 7 million USD Sources: https://screenrant.com/invisible-man-2020-movie-budget-cost/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Box_(2020_film) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lie_(2018_film)

What kind of movie am I trying to make?/ The basic conventions of a mystery film

What Kind Of Movie Am I Trying To Make? The type of movie I am trying to make is a mystery movie. I chose mystery movie because I've always found mystery movies fascinating and more interesting than other movie genres.  Movie Conventions      Based on my knowledge the conventions of a mystery includes someone that is trying to find a solution to a crime of some sort, a criminal that no one expects. Dark gloomy lighting and shadows. Misleading foreshadowing that throws the watcher and crime solver off the trail of the criminal. a rainy city that doesn't have a lot of sunlight. also while editing the editor adds a blue hue over the shots to add a gloomy feel to the movie.     A mystery movie revolves around the fact that there is always a solution to a problem or crime. A mystery film focuses on a detective of some sort solving the problem and finding a solution by following a series of clues.
